These are “mini-motorcycles”, or sometimes referred to as “pocket-bikes.” They are becoming increasingly popular with young adults in our community, and you may have even seen someone riding one down your street. But are they legal to ride? Are they safe?
A Mini-motorcycle or “pocket-bike” is classified as a motorcycle. However, most are not manufactured to comply with the laws that allow them to be used safely on public roadways. They also cannot be registered as a legal motor vehicle. Accordingly, the locations where they may be legally ridden are very limited. Most retailers don’t share this information with you, but that’s not an excuse for you to be uninformed.

Suzuki’s Superbikes Hayabusa & Intruder Launched in India

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd introduced its iconic superbikes, the Hayabusa (1300cc) and cruiser Intruder M1800R. BothSuzuki targets to sell more than 350 superbikes per annum. Already Yamaha has introduced its YZF-R1 1000cc superbike and the MT-01, 1670cc, priced in the range of Rs 10-15 lakh. Triumph, the Italian buke maker also has launched its Multistrada, Monste and 1098 super bikes in India, priced in the range of Rs 15-55 lakh. are priced at Rs 12.5 lakh (each) at ex-showroom, Delhi.

Ducati 1198 and 1198S Superbikes Released

But wait! There’s more! There’s a reason that the Streetfighter will get the Superbike’s 1098 mills…it is because the Superbike line no longer needs them! Ducati will be bumping the rest of the Superbike line (the 1098R has already made the engine displacement jump) to the newly decided upon 1198cc displacement for the World Superbike regulations. More after the jump.

The 1198S will get the 1198R’s traction control and data aquistiion unit (as also seen on the Streetfighter S). This is the same technology that is being used on Ducati’s MotoGP and WSB competition bikes, with 8 traction settings that limit the output from the mighty v-twin. This ensures that the 1198S/R do not make any tears in the Earth’s crust that allow would Satan himself to rise from the netherwold, and start running a muck of things here on the domain for mortal man.

Super Bike VFR1000 from Honda in India

Honda plans to bring a new super bike in India, VFR1000 by the year 2010. It has already announced to launch two new international models as CBU in 2009. According to the industry sources, Honda may introduce CBR1000 and VR800 in India soon. The company has set its eyes on the super bikes market in the country and is assessing the market potential as well. It has admitted that it also plans to bring a higher capacity VFR bike to India next year.“When we launch bikes in India, we started with smaller engine sizes to cater to the masses. Now we are planning to launch a new bike and by the end of this year when Honda launches the new 800cc bike for the Indian market,” HMSI Sales and Marketing head N.K Rattani.The new VFR1000 will be powered by 5-cylinder unit with 3 cylinder facing the front and 2 cylinders at the rear end. The new VFR1000 will also sport Honda’s new combined ABS system making its one of the safest bikes on the road. Honda VFR750R RC30

The RC30 was the first race-replica that was also a real racer - a homologation machine for Formula1 and World Superbikes. It was a street bike based on Honda's successful RVF superbike and endurance racer. It won the World Superbike championship in its first two years, and was the vehicle of choice for Superbike, endurance and TT racers for years. In fact, RC30s have been spotted doing stalwart work at the Isle of Man even in the late 90's. The RC30 reviewed way back in 1991...
Everything about the bike is so uncompromising; it looks illegal standing still and when you get on it laws cease to exist. It's all to do with minimalism. Less IS more. The Most Important Thing about this bike it its engine. It starts pulling from nowhere and at seven thousand revs growls at you. It heaves and moans and judders for a thousand revs, then goes quiet again, but pulls harder. And then, at 11,000 a hundred screaming maniacs howl at you and you get pushed. Did I like it? Do bears go tra la la la in the woods? If I had the cash I'd definitely buy one.

Firstly a note for our overseas readers - Australia only receives one version of the CBR 600 and it is the sport model. In Australia it is known as the CBR 600 F4i.
The CBR 600 debuted in 1987 and has proven to be one of the most reliable sportsbikes of the modern era. The 'F' series of road-bikes refers to the model being user-friendly and not an all out sports machine. They say the new F4i has departed from that concept to become a lot more track focused, which this new F4i certainly is, but it has not lost it's user-friendliness along the way.

As cars vied with each other to get smaller, it was as if the bikes were in the race to get bigger! The Delhi Auto Expo saw global models on display and the theme seemed to be raw power and BHP.
A look at the Yamaha pavilion spoke volumes on what is in store in the coming days. Superbikes ruled Pragati Maidan all through the week. Bajaj, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki were showcasing their global models. In fact, Bajaj Auto went a step further and announced plans to launch a Kawasaki Ninja 250R and a range of sports bikes by European sports bike manufacturer KTM.

Subaru's first motorcycle: the HS500sa

It's rumored that this bike could be branded a Subaru. Powered by a Fuji Heavy Industries — Subaru's parent company — 500cc single-cylinder engine, it could also herald a new era of challenging-to-ride, low-capacity sportsbikes. While the styling is a bit generic for our tastes, the beefy, Chinese-made frame and swingarm are promising. The whole thing looks very production ready, so expect to see more of it, possibly in a Subaru dealership in Asia, very soon

TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE ANNOUNCED

The bike will be unveiled exclusively to Triumph customers attending the Triumph Tridays event in Neukirchen, Austria on Saturday, 30th June 2007 (www.tridays.com). The bike will then receive its official press launch, including full release of information, in early July. The official Street Triple microsite containing more information on the new bike will go live in late June.

The fuel tanks are in primer. The tires are used with one race. The bikes do not come with any extras. I have an inventory of parts that would be more than sufficient to run all 24 Rookies bikes for two more seasons. Ducati motorcycles to be available in India at Rs 20 lakh and above

Ducati builds some of the most beautiful bikes in the world, but at Rs 20 lakh and above, is there a significant market in India for these bikes?
Italian sportsbike manufacturer, Ducati is now setting up shop in India. Ducati Motor Holding will be operating in India via Precision Motor India Pvt Ltd, which will be the sole importer of Ducati motorcycles in the country.‘We will be launching four different models in multiple variants. These bikes will be available starting at Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh in the Indian market,’ said Ashish Chordia, CEO, Precision Motor. He added that his company would import fifty Ducati bikes from Italy this year, increasing the number next year depending on demand.

Honda CBF Stunner.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) will launch an 800cc bike by the end of this financial year. This was disclosed by a a senior executive of the HMSI while unveiling Honda CBF Stunner.
The 800cc bike will be imported from the parent company. There would be another launch later this year which could be either a bike or a scooter. “It is too early to disclose if the other product will be a scooter or a bike”, HMSI sales and marketing head N.K. Rattan said.
“When we introduced motorcycles in India, we started with smaller engine sizes to cater to the masses. We have been exploring launching bigger motorcycles and this year an 800cc bike will be launched for the Indian market,” Ayoma said.

Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird

The CBR1100XX was the culmination of Honda's ambitious effort to produce the ultimate superbike with a breathtaking performance. The unique design of the Blackbird facilitates excellent aerodynamics by achieving a small frontal area and one of the lowest effective coefficients of drag in motorcycling, while ensuring a remarkably high level of wind protection and rider comfort.The CBR's liquid-cooled, 16-valve DOHC inline-four cylinder 1137cc engine generates a peak power of 153 bhp at 10000 rpm. On the braking front, Honda's revolutionary Linked Braking System (LBS), first used in the 1993 CBR1000F and completely revised on the 1996 ST1100, simultaneously engages both front and rear brakes when either the front brake lever or rear brake pedal is used.

With the Kawasaki ZX12R Ninja, Kawasaki plunged into the high-performance sportbike war raging among the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers. NO LIMIT was sold to PETER GALL in 1999 , after an extensive rebuild was run successfully during the 2000 racing season at Hidden Valley. An unfortunate crash during a testing session took the life of PETER GALL.

All things being well I reckon it'll be at the end of the ski season which is May 7th unless of course you want to be riding on snow.Really wanna go and do some Euro stuff on the 950. If you're interested there's also little track I sometimes go to called Circuit d'automobile Croix en Ternoise near Arras which is only like 60 miles from Calais. Makes a pleasant but fairly long day trip and you can usually blag your way on for a few sessions for not a lot of euros plus have a nice ride in the french countryside.

AC Schnitzer R 1200S Sprintstar

Sporting riding without carrying the whole weight on your lower ams is the wish of many riders. To meet this wish, a Superbike handlebar conversion has been developed which with its tapered handlebars and full black anodizing not only looks sophisticated but also ensures sporting performance with very little strain on the rider. This handlebar conversion has been adapted for both the Sprintstar and the Twinstar. The Superbike handlebar conversion includes all components necessary for fitting.

Yamaha YZF-R15

Sports oriented, Yamaha YZF R15 is a track ready, made for India bike inheriting from the Yamaha R1. The new single cylinder, 4-stroke, 150cc engine has 4-valves, is liquid cooled and will have Fuel Injection. The bike also has front and rear disc brakes. R15 will be launched in India some time in June-July of 2008. Though price and performance specs are not available at this time, current speculation is it’ll be priced around Rs 90,000 and the power output will be around 18 bhp.

What kit did you use? what pipe do you have? I just installed my Ladtbird full ti, looks and sounds nice, wished spring was here
